Marriott Bonvoy

A global hotel loyalty programme built around stays, points and elite recognition.

Marriott Bonvoy is the global loyalty programme of Marriott International, connecting members across more than 30 hotel brands, ranging from select-service and extended-stay names to some of the world's best-known luxury hospitality brands such as The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, EDITION, The Luxury Collection, Bulgari Hotels & Resorts and Ritz-Carlton Reserve, alongside global names including JW Marriott, W Hotels, Marriott Hotels, Sheraton and Westin, with over 10,000 properties in 148 countries and territories. Introduced in 2019, Bonvoy brought together Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest into a single programme.

Members can earn points through eligible hotel stays and spending, as well as selected partners and credit cards, then redeem those points for hotel nights, room upgrades, travel experiences and other rewards. As members stay more frequently, they can also progress through Marriott Bonvoy's elite tiers and unlock additional recognition and benefits across the portfolio.

Transfer Points Between Members

Eligible Marriott Bonvoy members can transfer points between accounts, subject to account eligibility and annual transfer limits. This can be useful when combining balances for a larger redemption or topping up another member's account.

Is Marriott Bonvoy free to join?

Yes. Marriott Bonvoy membership is free. Members can access member rates, complimentary in-room Wi-Fi and earn points toward free nights and other rewards.

Do Marriott Bonvoy points expire?

Yes. Points generally expire after 24 consecutive months of account inactivity. Earning, redeeming, purchasing or converting points can help keep an account active, although simply gifting or transferring points does not count as qualifying activity.

How many Marriott Bonvoy points are needed for a free night?

There is no single fixed amount. The number of points required can vary by property, room type, length of stay and time of year, and Marriott updates award pricing continuously.

Can Marriott Bonvoy points be transferred to another member?

Yes. Eligible members can transfer points between accounts. A member may transfer up to 100,000 points per calendar year and receive up to 500,000 points per calendar year, subject to account-age, activity and transaction limits.

Can Marriott Bonvoy points be transferred to airlines?

Yes. Bonvoy Points can be converted into miles with participating airline loyalty programmes. Transfer ratios and rules vary by partner, and for most airlines the loyalty-account name must match the Marriott Bonvoy member name.

What does “Stay for 5, Pay for 4” mean?

When an eligible member redeems points for five consecutive award nights under one reservation, only four nights are charged in points. The complimentary night is the night with the lowest points requirement within that stay.

Does Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite include free breakfast?

Not at every Marriott hotel. Platinum Elite members may receive breakfast as part of the Elite Welcome Gift or lounge-access benefit at participating brands and properties, but the benefit varies by brand, region and hotel.
